Mark Devlin, Midfielder, Central Midfield |
| Scottish Midfielder Mark Devlin arrived at the club after a
chance meeting at a motorway service station with Mark Birch, his former Stoke City
team-mate, he told Birch he had been released by Exeter City and was currently without a
club. Birch invited him along to a training session with Vics, and the rest as they say,
is history! Devvo, is a true scrapper, never afraid to get stuck in, he won't just let a player run away from him, he'll track him right back, he is a real terrier in Midfield, but he can pass the ball to, with the ability to spread it around like butter on toast, with a great eye for a pass. Passing isn't his only attribute though, for this un-sung hero, he can score goals from Midfield too, although as the whole team did last season, he found goals harder to come by in the season just passed. In my opinion, at his best when there is another quality player next to him in the middle, Owen and Devlin complimentated each other perfectly, but with Owen gone, he may have to work with Mark Bailey next season. |

| Like Cooke, Devlin is Mr Consistent, although his first season was hampered with injury, he came through last season relatively unscathed, if he keeps injury free, and we find him a good partner, theres no reason why we can't have another quality season out of this man. Keep Going Devvo!! | |
